Hi all, are these the same thing or different ? I was told they are the same.

one way that diffserv is implemented is using dscp. there are other ways though - CoS, ToS, and Precedence.

Diffserv is a QoS technique which is configured on a per hop basis.
DSCP on the other hand is a 6 bit field used for classifying traffic and prioritising them. First three bits are the class selector bits and the next 3 bits are the drop precednce bits.
