Hi every body!
I was reading about EAP and its methods such as identity,mmd5 challenge etc
let say backend authenticator server sends the eap message with code feild=1 specifying that it is identity request message , asking for peer identity .When peer sends the response, what does it send? user name password ?

Generic EAP:
After 802.1x association, authentication commence, which is initiated by authenticator (AP or NAS). Which send an EAP request to the client asking for its credentials. This can be machine name or username, depending on the authentication method use.

Let say authenticator send identity request to peer, what information will the peer return? password and user name?
