how to configure r3,r4 routers so that devices in eigrp50 will prefer route through r4? r4 goes down then r3 should take over. r4 should take over as soon as r4 comes back up. r3 and r4 are also running eBGP. i tried to fix it using eigrp metric but it doesn't work. any other solution in BGP btw r3,r4?

Theres a few ways to do it using BGP metrics not IGP
This doc has examples and diagrams to follow show you how to manipulate the path in EBGP

Have you done redistribution of eBGP into eigrp and vice versa..You can use "local preference" or any other BGP Metric to influence routes through r4
