Hi to all, i'm studying for the CCNP route module.

Following you can find the topology creates to test basic BGP.

question.jpg

My question is very simple.

My topology was running correctly. Between R6 and R7 was running EBGP.

Then, for testing purpose, i shutdown the fastethernet 0/0 of R7 and i resumed it but no EBGP connection was resumed between R6 and R7.

Can someone tell me how i can indicate to the bgp speaker  R7 that has to resume the previous EBGP connection with R6?

Thanks, Fabio.

Try this: clear ip bgp * on both sides and it should come back up then .

It should do it automatically although it may take a while depending on your BGP timers.

Thanks jon for your response.

In BGO i know just two timers: the keepalive and the holdown timer and i think that these timers are not performing the reactivation of BGP session or i wrong?

Just to note that so far no EBGP session was resumed...
