Hi,
A quick Q. I need a 4 port switch to connect between the router and the firewall.
Can a 4-port EHWIC in the router (ISR3925) achieve this? An EHWIC is basically a switch right?
Just want to make sure. Thanks

Hi,
Yes you can install a 4 switch EHWIC.
Have a look at this link
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/routers/3900-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/relevant-interfaces-and-modules.html#esm
Select a card that meets your needs and look at the DATA SHEET
for more info.
( Probably something like EHWIC-4ESG √ √ √1 4-port single-wide Gb Ethernet switch EHWIC)
Hope this helps
Regards
Alex

Hi.
So I got the EHWIC module and want to replace it with the switch between the router an the 2 ASAs for ASA failover. Want to confirm the config on the EHWIC to make sure it works right. The router and the ASA belong to /29 subnet.
So all I need to do is conf a
- SVI on the EHWIC with an IP belonging to this subnet
- Include the interfaces in this VLAN and recable te ASAs to the EHWIC.
Please let me know if there is anything else I need to consider.
Any insight is appreciated.
