Enable static route between two Vlans on C2960S

Not applicable

Dear All

I have a C2960S stack with 3 stack members. I have configured two vlans namely vlan1 and vlan2.

vlan1 having interface 172.16.2.11 255.255.0.0

vlan2 having interface 192.168.1.22 255.255.255.0

(Please note that these two vlans have different subnets also)

I have enabled static routing by giving "ip routing" command

I want to configure static route between the two vlans.

Here we have the iOS version & details

Hi,

Since the 2 vlans (1 and 2) are configured on the same switch and IP routing is enabled, there is no need for static route. Just make sure both vlans are in up and up mode "sh ip int bri vlan1" and 2 if all good, try pinging both vlans while connected to the switch.

Just a note that the 2960s series switches are mainly layer-2.
