enabling gui on an 881 router

Hello all,

I have an 881 router here in house and am attempting to enable the gui interface on the router.

I have tried the steps to enable http but have not had any success.

Below is the IOS Version and the portion of the show config that reflects the http allow:

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.4(15r)XZ2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Cisco 881 (MPC8300) processor (revision 0x100) with 249856K/12288K bytes of memory.

Processor board ID FTX1249Y16Q

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 FastEthernet4 x.x.x.x removed

ip http server

ip http access-class 23

ip http authentication local

ip http secure-server

ip http timeout-policy idle 60 life 86400 requests 10000

any help would be appreciated at this point.

Remove that line and try again.

Thanks for the suggestion..that worked..

I have been looking over and over it, second set of eyes....

Now my router says it does not support SDM and closes..

hi bruce,

make sure you have a local username/password with privileged level 15 access configured:

username privilege 15 secret

ensure your PC is able to ping the 881's GW.

Thanks John but the account creation was not needed..

I can now access the router with CP Express so all is good...
