Error in 2960-X IOS upgrade.

Hello Everyone,

 

today i got a new 2960-X series 48 port POE switch for new business requirement and i just copied new IOS(c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E2.bin) file in flash, after that boot that switch with this image but during the reboot or post i noticed the below error but after that error IOS loaded and working properly but i am looking for cause why it was showing during boot.

 

...done Initializing Flash.
Loading "c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E2.bin"...c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E2.bin: no such device

Error loading "c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E2.bin"

Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.

Did you try to add flash:c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-6.E2.bin?

You should specify also flash: before the IOS name.

Hello @Nishan Thevathason,

 

I recommend you make gradual updates to the version you want.

Sometimes, jumping to the last update brings problems.

You should specify also flash: before the IOS name.

The error message is because the boot variable string syntax is incorrect.  

Post the complete output to the following commands: 

1.  sh bootv; and

2.  dir
