Hi Ricky,
The jeevesfpga.rbf file is stored in the TAR file at
not in the IOS image itself, so correctly, you should decompress the entire TAR file to your flash. Also, to avoid hitting CSCuh73385, avoid using sdflash.
See https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/connectedgrid/cg-switch-sw-master/software/release/notes/rn-15-2-4ea5.html#pgfId-123791 for a step-by-step procedure using the archive command.
Did you try this already?
Best regards,
Peter

well that did it! thank you so much.
i guess un taring and manually moving the files was not good enough, by default the upgrade happened on the SDCARD and the FPGA update ran just fine.
i used: archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://172.16.60.250/ie2000-universalk9-tar.152-4.EA5.tar

Hi Ricky,
Thank you very much for confirming that this worked for you - much appreciated! Needless to say, I am very happy to hear that you were able to get the FPGA upgrade done.
Best regards,
Peter

Is it possible to recover from rommon without SD card? TFTP, FTP, etc.

Is it possible to upgrade the IE 2000 without using a tar file and just the bin file? I am using the bin file and I keep getting stuck in this loop. I need 15.2.7E2 with just the bin file.
