Ethernet as a Access method for Dedicated Internet Services is becoming increasingly more popular. Would appreciate a discussion on packet processing performance for Ethernet interfaces.
For example: An 1841 that may have two FastEthernet interfaces most likely should not be expected to support an access of 50Mbps.
Would we want a 2811 to support a 10Mbps Access.
Is there a good guideline posted somewhere?

Hello Ticarey,
there is a common file about router performance
see attachment
these are raw figures unidirectional (divide by two for bidirectional traffic)
ACLs , QoS and other features influence performances
Hope to help

Thank You - Is there a sheet that addresses the new G2 platforms?
