Failed stack cisco WS 3850-24P

Hello Everybody,


I am having trouble stacking twoWS C3850-24P.
I get the following message:
*** stack cable authentication failed for cable inserted on stack port 1on switch 1 ***.

Could you indicate if they have had a similar problem?
I will appreciate your comments.

This is a well-known issue.  What firmware is the stack running on?

Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- ----
* 1 32 WS-C3850-24P 16.6.5 CAT3K_CAA-UNIVERSALK9
INSTALL

Upgrade to the lasest 16.6.X and see if this improves things.

We have detected one of the stacking cables is in trouble. We are going to
request the cable change from the provider.

Then we will test stacking.

Under this  "*** stack cable authentication failed for cable inserted on stack port 1on switch 1 ***."

 

is this a new installation or a working one that failed ?

 

if this new installation - Power off the device and re-insert the cable which side failing eastbound or westbound

 

Example: Stack Adapter Auth Fail: SIF_SERDES_CABLE_EASTBOUND

 

Still issue - then you hitting with BUG

 

RMA is the option.

Try Reseat of stack cables

If doesn't help --> RMA
