Hi, CCNA Junior here, two years experience. We're only two person in the enterprise for the network administration.
4507 informations:
- Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500e- UNIVERSALK9NPE-M), Version 03.05.03.E RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
- Running default software - Jawa Revision 7, Winter Revision 0x0.0x40
I will be in charge of moving the core switch configuration from a single Cisco 4507 w/blades to a Cisco 9300 and some 9200L switches (maybe with VSS Stack - the enterprise didn't decide yet.)
I'm looking for a little help:
- Can I just (mostly) copy-paste the config (I know some things will have to be configured)
- The configuration stays the same, it's mostly just moving to more recent equipment.
- Any special things/guidelines/guide to follow?
- I started studying for CCNP ENCOR and bought several books and I do watch online videos
- I'm also looking for guides or "best practice" advice.
For the past two years I've mostly done Layer 2 switching. I did some Layer 3 but almost nothing at all except for firewall. I know I have a lot to learn.
