It seems you are hitting this DDTS:

CSCta46107    Not able to FTP through router using 12.4(24)Tx

Details:

Symptoms: FTP transfers from FTP servers on internet to router fail, with

"Connection timed out" or protocol errors.

Conditions: The symptom is observed with the following conditions:

- Cisco 877, Cisco 1801, Cisco 1841 routers.

- Cisco IOS Release 12.4(24)T and 12.4(24)T1.

Workaround: There is no workaround.

Further Problem Description: Using TFTP or SCP works fine.

It was found that not only above platform affected. 7600 as well.

For SR relases it is fixed on SRD4. That explains why you have issue on SRD3 and not on SRE.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.

IOS where able to copy is: SRE2

IOS where not able to copy is: 12.2(33)SRD3.
