Gratuitous arps over Nexus OTV

Hi,

Will Gratuitous arps continue to function over Nexus OTV? We have two F5 load balancers at different data centres which use Gratuitous arps for failover.

We are looking at implementing OTV but this will block broadcasts so this might be a slight problem.

i have a pair ACE load balancers, within my OTV environment ~ one at each datacenter;

i simply added a NIC from each ACE onto the streatch OTV VLAN

the Load balancer doesn't care cause it's all L2 between the Load balancers

as far as any device is concerned they are L2 adjacent

We are decommisioning the ACEs for F5s and i will be putting one at each datacenter into OTV (in about 30days)

i'll let you know how we did it
