India based client on 230VAC. Both client IT guys and MEP designer seem completely clueless as to what load capacity per rack of 9410R to assign. Local IT guys says each switch (there are 5 on site) consume 3500w x 4- due to 4 power supplies per switch). This is huge. Meanwhile, the current switch (same model) with two power supplies via normal 16A industrial socket appears to be drawing less than 2A.
Any suggestions on how these are typically installed?

Why not use the Cisco Power Calculator?

Are you taking into the account the possible huge difference in actual power draw vs. what device can draw?
Modern switches, actual power draw much impacted by PoE.
Similar situation with a house branch circuit, i.e. circuit installed to support up to a certain amperage but actual amperage draw depends on what's connected and actually turned on.

As Joe mentioned, it is all about the module and the amount POE power you will be using. The ports on the mGig line cards support up to 90W POE+. So, the best is to know how many modules you will be adding to each chassis and use the power calculator to find the numbers.
