Hi,
I am experiencing high memory utilisation on my 2950 switch. CPU is normal. I am not able to get a clue how to get it reduced. I am attaching some of the output here and eager to get a solution for this...
Thanks
Richard

Hi,
There are two most memory-consuming processes:
22 0 2641130316 2641130316 3808 0 0 Calhoun Statisti
36 0 2659706868 513902936 17848 692290756 227583752 Spanning Tree
Calhoun Statisti - is 2950 system process that handles some features on each physical port
and
Spanning Tree
My opinion is that there are too many VLANs and that is the normal behavior of per-vlan ST in such case.
I would recommend to remove unused VLANS and try to show processes memory again.

Hi Maxim,
Thanks a lot for the input. I have pasted the sh process memory out put in cisco output interpreter and i could see the 3 procees holding more memory.
'Entity MIB API' is holding 424748 bytes
'VMATM Callback' is holding 137968 bytes
'DTP Protocol' is holding 74756 bytes
Can I have some one's inputs on this.
Thanks
Richard

Hi
Maybe it's obvious but I thought I'd mention... Did you check the IOS version? Maybe the upgrade is available? I had the memory issue with 3750 and it was a reported memory leak. Upgraded the IOS and the problem went away..

Hi,
I have the atmost latest ios running and i there is no bug reported causing memory leak or memory utilization.
Do you have anything to say about DTP protocol causing high cpu ? or any other idea....
Thanks
Richard
