We have checked that the highest holding memory is accounted to the SNMP traps on the router. It is consuming more than 60% of the memory. I've tried to look for a memory leak related bug and found this one, CSCei20815 - A memory leak may occur when an SNMP trap is sent to a VRF destination. Also, exact parameters are configured on the router relating to this bug. EX. snmp-server host <ip address> vrf <name> snmp. We've check fixed version of IOS but there is no ver 12.4 available for our platform C7609. We can't even find the bug under resolve caveats of version 12.2(33)SRC1, which is the highest IOS available for 7609-SUP720/MSFC3. Currently, our temporary resolution for this is to disable SNMP traps. Is there other way we can verify if it is the proper IOS that will resolve the issue? (Current IOS is 12.2(18)SFX4)
Your help is very much appreciated....
