How do I configure port bandwidth limitation on Cisco 2950 24 port?

I would like to limit the user bandwidth once it enter the switch. For exmaple, limit the bandwidth to 512Kbit/s.Shld I use port-limit or policy-map? My software version is 12.1(22)EA13.Thanks for helping out!

As your code supports both, you can use either 'port based traffic control-Storm Control' or you can police rate using QoS.

If your purpose is just limited to restrict bandwidth then first option is much easier to configure on per interface basis whereas by using second method you can mark violating traffic. This can be helpful if you want end to end QoS.
