Hi,

Q1:  how to check the link bandwidth now by putting high load on this.??

Ans: If you want to check your link bandwidth then you can use "www.speedtest.net" "www.fast.com" etc. websites. And the same time, if you want to the load on the router interface, then there is no direct way to know that but you can go through the CLI or another protocol and software (Protocol analyzer) as NetFlow.

Some commands are below:

1. show interfaces | include line_protocol|input_rate|output_rate

Check 5 minutes rx and tx traffic rates.

2. show interfaces gigabitEthernet 0/1

Check tx and rx load.

Hello,

the easiest way might just be to connect a Windows PC directly to the router and use a bandwidth checker website as the one below:

https://www.bandwidthplace.com/

Hi,

A way to verify the real used bandwidth is using Netflow and configure it under the interfaces. But a method to verify if you are receiving the real bandwidth over a link is applying traffic for example using WAN Killer from Solarwinds. You could increase the traffic per blocks until see lost packets.

External links like: www.speedtest.net  and  https://www.speakeasy.net   could be useful to verify Internet bandwidth.

For load/stress testing of a WAN link, there used to be a tiny red box called Nightmare.
This box was (still) a network engineer's worst nightmare. It can load test anything from 10 Mbps all the way up to 1 Gbps.

Hi leo,

how can we do this
