hi all
i have 2960 l2 switch connected to the ASA 5505. for some or the other reason i am not able to do intervlan communication.
have done trunk mode on both ends onthe switch as well as on the ASA and native vlan 1 allowed. the trunk is up up i am able to poing only the vlan 1 ip from the switch to the ASA for the vlan 2 i am not and simillar for vlan 3.please help me in fixin this

Hello Shine,
This board will take care of the switch side but you may want to open a separate discussion on the security board to address the ASA side of things.
Can you provide me with the following outputs from the switch side:
- show vlan
- show int trunk

Hi,
on the switch side you don't need to have vlan interfaces, just configure the port going to asa eth0/1 as an unconditional trunk port with switchport mode trunk command then configure access ports for the corresponding vlans.
If you've got interfaces with same security-level on the ASA and you want traffic to traverse these interfaces then you must configure same-security-traffic permit inter-interface global command command and also do nat for these interfaces.
