make sure check the CAPs lock on something like that, make sure you type the password notepad and see is that what working ?

if you do not have one reset the device and setup a username and password.(do not write information to device,) test is this working ?

then write.

I tried with "cisco, cisco" but its not working, I looked at flash:/config.text and there was no user setup or password setup.

In your Web browser, enter the IP address 172.16.0.1. Enter the following default credentials: username: cisco, password: cisco and press Enter.

ok, so you only need to interrupt the boot sequence and then

switch: rename flash:config.text flash:config.text.old

then boot and it will bring you back to the factory settings

This absolutely works. Thanks!

How do I apply this reset? Is this a command line action? I am having a similar issue on a c1000-8p after exiting the GUI I can not get back in, reset to Zero-day, or even confirm the switch IP thought a browser.

interrupt boot sequnce and you will get to the boot loader. Then just delete or rename your current config.

Genius!
