Can you tell me a way to determine the system (backplane?) serial number for the 2nd node in a 6509 VSS pair? "show version" only shows the SN of the primary chassis. "show module switch all" shows all the serial numbers of the modules in both chassis but not the chassis SN itself. "show idprom all" only shows the primary chassis again.
TIA,
Eric

Use the command "sh inventory | i WS-C6509" and you should see the serial number of both chassis.

"Show inventory" will show you the S/N for both switches.
first section shows switch1 with all the modules and the 2nd section shows switch2 with all the modules.
