HSRP between routers through switches

Level 1

I have (2) 2921's each connected to its own 2960-X. The 2960-X's are Layer2 only and connected via a port channel. I cannot seem to get this to work right. Diagram is attached.

switch's have the command  ip default-gateway 10.255.193.1 <-- HSRP VIP

2921 -1

int g0/1.100

desc Inside

encapsulation dot1q 100

ip address 10.255.193.2 255.255.255.248

standby 1 ip address 10.255.193.1

standby 1 priority 110

standby preempt

standby 1 track 1 decrement 20

int g0/1.20

dec MGMT

encapsulation dot1q 20

ip address 10.255.192.1 255.255.255.248

2960-1

int g1/0/4

switchport trunk vlan allowed 20,100

switchport mode trunk

You know I never thought of it that way. You are correct though it would rule out Multicast and HSRP. I will try that when I get home to my lab.

Maybe there is something a miss with Multicast on those switches.

That did occur to me and I was going to suggest disabling IGMP snooping as a test but I wasn't sure whether the issue was no HSRP hellos getting through or a more basic connectivity problem which is why I asked you about the ping between the routers.
