I cannot see which protocol is in use for etherchannel

Hello,

I am trying to review the port-channel configuration on a 6500 series. I am issuing the "show etherchannel summary" command and the out put shows the Group, Port-Channel, and Ports. It does not show me the protocol that is in use such as PAgP or LACP. Does this have to do with the Etherchannel in the "On" mode rather than "active", or "Auto"?

Thank you

Hi,

yes you're correct this etherchannel doesn't use either protocol as it is in on mode.

Regards

Alain

You can gather the information you are looking for from the mode of the etherchannel.

Auto and Desirable means it is using PaGP.

Active or Passive means it is using LACP

ON means it is not using any negotiation protocol
