Hi,
I upgraded an IE3200 from IOS XE 16.10.x to 17.12.x
Since I haven't found a special upgrade path I thought this would be ok.
Is there a special upgrade path from 16.10.x to 17.12.x?
Now the switch boots 17.12.x, shows following an reboots
*Jan 7 22:02:50.473: PHY-EMI: Fix failed for phy port 2 *Jan 7 22:02:50.473: PHY-EMI: Enable link failed for phy port 2 *Jan 7 22:02:50.474: PHY-PLL: PLL init failed for Phy port 3Mdio port 1 *Jan 7 22:02:50.474: OIR Error:PHY PLL config Failed port 3 *Jan 7 22:02:50.474: SUP-OIR ERR:Fail to Init Down Link Ports *Jan 7 22:02:50.474: Error SUP OIR Failed !!!

I the short time, I can input cli commands, I can see, that the switch online shows interface vlan 1.
Interface gi 1/1-10 is missing.
Can that be fixed?
Did I kill the switch?

Thomas

Contact Cisco TAC and organize for an RMA. The switch is dead.

If this network is not using Profinet, turn it off.

I can boot Emergency Recovery IOS XS 16.12 from the switch.
It does not reboot, but int gi1/1-10 are not shown. Only vlan1.
I booted 17.12.04 from usbflash and did a factory default.
Installed 17.12.04 again -> reboots
LED of gi1/1, 1/2 and 1/4 are solid orange.
it also shows at boot of 17.12.04
imsp_led_init: fail to get max physical port for slot =1

Disable profinet didn't help.
Still reboots with "

- @thomas.lutz - It looks like the device got 'damaged' for some reason ; try full power cycle but
attach a console first and watch the output, look for errors on startup if any.
+ If that does not help also try factory reset ,

I managed to factory default and install 17.3.6 with no rebooting.
But at boot it shows

Is this a hardware error?

- Can you boot the 16.x version that the device was (still) working with ?

Post the complete output to the command "sh post".
If POST is not enable, connect a console cable to the switch and reboot again. Post the entire boot-up process.
