Hello,
Is it necessary to connect the two DC inputs of a Cisco IE2000 to the same power supply? While DC-A and DC-B inputs are not fully redundant, their internal power supplies are separate. Therefore, I believe both DC-A and DC-B can be powered by the same external power supply... I appreciate your response very much. The power supply is split into two separate units. Single-source or dual-source power can be used to power the switch. It is the higher voltage power source that draws power from both power sources when both are operational. In the event of a power outage, switches are powered by other sources. Power supplies should be connected to independent power sources in systems with redundant power sources. An external wiring fault or a tripped circuit breaker could cause a total power outage if this is not done.
