Hi all,
Does any one install cisco dcnm 10, i'm getting the following warning and the services dont start, does anyone know what could be the issue ?
DCNM v10 will only use HTTPS. Insecure access via HTTP is now disabled.
Please use the url https://<DCNM-IP-ADDRESS>; or https://<HOSTNAME>; to launch the DCNM UI.
DCNM is stopped...
Thanks

Also having this issue, were you ever advised of how to resolve it?

Hi,
To move forward i run the installation from the ISO file and not the ova.
With the ova the dcnm services never start.
Thanks

Does anyone think we need a DCNM User Group?
I'm thinking of starting one up - we need some assistance with issues and right now there is a void.
Thanks

Hi
Did you deploy the DCNM with 1 or with 2 NICs? I tried to deploy the OVA with only 1 NIC (as described in the documentation) which resulted in corrupted Linux system. Lots of shell scripts where not correctly installed, critical symbolic links where missing in the OS. Workaround was to redeploy the OVA from scratch with 2 NICs and let the second NIC be disconnected with a dummy IP on it.
Kind regards
Roberto

I used two nics and just used the next available IP in the subnet, though I have yet to use it for anything...

I ended up figuring out the issue, thought not entirely certain as to why it worked. The trick is to use thick provisioning when importing the OVA rather than using think provisioning. That fixed everything, I just hated to give up all that disk space.

Hi,
Cou can convert the thick disk into thin again with this "vmkfstools" command. You need to enable ssh to the host to get it working. And stop the vm too.
example:
vmkfstools -i "/vmfs/volumes/<source datastore>/<vm-folder>/dcnm.vmdk" "/vmfs/volumes/<destination datastore>/<dest-folder>/dcnm.vmdk" -d thin
