Hi,
I have installed and setup a new Cisco 2069 switch and joined to our domain. recently I have noticed that Vlans have not copied over to this particular switch. I have created the Vlans on the core switch and all other switches have received this Vlan apart from this one.
Thanks

are you using VTP? and if so what is the new switch set to in terms of vtp?

Hi
What VTP version are you using? if you are using VTP ver 3 you should verify if the new switch supports it. Also verify:
- VTP mode
- VTP domain
- VTP password
- VTP version
it could be checked through: show vtp status
Hope it is useful

Hi Dennis and Julia,
See below output from a working switch and I can see the vlan I created on the core switch:
SBC-SW04#sh vtp st
SBC-SW04#sh vtp status
VTP Version capable : 1 to 3
VTP version running : 1
VTP Domain Name : gs_sbc.local
VTP Pruning Mode : Disabled
VTP Traps Generation : Enabled
Device ID : 1ce6.c72f.6800
Configuration last modified by 10.40.101.10 at 2-10-18 15:03:49
Feature VLAN:
--------------
VTP Operating Mode : Client
Maximum VLANs supported locally : 255
Number of existing VLANs : 40
Configuration Revision : 9
MD5 digest : 0x90 0x43 0x61 0x6F 0x4B 0x08 0xDC 0x10
0xEB 0x5E 0x0B 0x48 0xAA 0x58 0x75 0xA5
SBC-SW04#
Now see the output from the switch that has not got the Vlan I created.
SBCSW246>sh vtp status
VTP Version capable : 1 to 3
VTP version running : 1
VTP Domain Name : gs_sbc.local
VTP Pruning Mode : Disabled
VTP Traps Generation : Disabled
Device ID : 2c86.d25a.9f00

Hi,
Please verify below points:
VTP password:
Trunk port between VTP server and client
any other switch between server and client, if any then that will not in off mode.
If all things seem ok then, please run debug command as
debug sw-vlan vtp <event and packets>

Deepak Kumar

Hi
Change the password to other not used string like Null and save then set up the proper password and try again, note the MD5 digest is different, it must be the same on both switches, you can see the password through:
show vtp password

Hi,
I have changed the VTP password but this still has not downloaded the changes.
i have noticed that the configuration revision number is 0 but all my other switches are showing 9.
could that be the issue.
