IOS upgrade on a 4507R with a redundant supervisor

we have 2 Supervisor IV modules in our 4507, i want to upgrade the IOS as its still on 12.2 and i am going to upgrade it to the latest.

my first question is, if i update the IOS on the bootflash will it replicate to the secondarybootflash?

secondly, can i force a reboot of the secondary supervisor, then the primary after the secondary is up?  i'm just trying to minimise downtime and get a plan going.

is there a difference in 12 vs 15 that would impact my current config that i should be aware of?

If you are upgrading from 12.2 to 15 you cannot do an in service software upgrade. The versions must be relatively close in order to perform one. So you will need to fully reload the device to perform this upgrade.

The bootflash of the two sups are not automatically sync'd so you will need to load the new code to one then the other. Ensure both bootflash have the image on them then set your boot statement, and do a write. The boot statement will be populated to the redundant supervisor.

at the moment, should i just push up to as far as i can go with 12 then?

sounds about what i need to do for the time being.  its our core, so taking it down means big problems!

I have never upgraded a supervisor cisco switch.Working on one tommorow

current IOS: cat4500-entservices-mz.122-44.SG1.bin

Upgrading IOS :cat4500-entservices-mz.150-2.SG8 the latest for line card to be supported.

I found several procedures but sometimes confusing on the best procedure.Found a straight forward document but not sure
