Hi,
I am planning to upgrade a remote site switch to a new IOS version. I have console access to the switch via a router at the same site.
In the event if IOS crashes after upgrade and switch goes to rommon mode,
Can I use xmodem to download IOS to the switch and what are the steps?
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
To copy a Cisco IOS image from a local or remote computer use the copy xmodem: command in EXEC mode.
Also you can use xmodem command in ROMMON mode
See:
https://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/products_tech_note09186a008015bfac.shtml
But copying files via xmodem will be very slow (9,6 kbps by default)

Hi Leo,
I am upgrading a 3560 switch. This is at a remote site and I have connectivity to the router on site and aux port of router is connected to the switch.
