Hi all,
Can someone tell me require configuration in Nexus 9K or Cisco 2960x access switch configuration for multicast to run IP TV. I have tested for AirPlay the below command.
core:
IP Multicast-routing
interface vlan vlan-id
ip pim sparse-mode
Access Switch
ip igmp snooping vlan vlan-id
What would be the recommended configuration for IP TV.
Thanks
Kamlesh

whatever you have should be enough, provided there is an ip address present in N9k to act as querier.

Yes, they are providing some IP address for servers.
Thanks

Hi Furose,
If multicast source & destination is in different VLAN, then what would be recommended config.
Thanks

with this simple setup, you would have to enable "IP PIM sparse-mode" in both the Vlans' SVI, configure a RP on the same device (N9k).

Thanks Furose,
What would be the access switch configuration, is it
ip igmp snooping vlan vlan-id
or igmp ver 3 required
Thanks

Hi Kamlesh,
no config is required on the access switch. IGMP snooping is enabled by default and you dont need IGMP v3 here (unless you are using Source-specific multicasting in your network)

Thanks Furose,
I will do configuration and will update you.
