IPERF worthwhile in this case ?

Hello, we have some potential packet loss in our network which we are trying to identify

PING tests prove zero packet loss and latency normal.

In this case, will IPERF testing with different TCP window sizing prove anything additional about potential packet loss?

Is it still worthwhile doing ?

Can you elaborate on where do you see packet loss and what type?

Sometimes packet losses are not necessary a network issue but rather a host/destination having problems.

thanks Reza, the issues are being reported as TCP retransmissions and TCP timeouts. 

However my pings are solid and all switchport interfaces on the network path are not showing any packet drops or problems e.g speed duplex etc. All totally normal,

Have you looked at the end devices (servers, hosts, etc..) to make sure the traffic is not being denied and is working as expected? If the switch interfaces are not showing any errors, can you try the same exact test using a different set of devices?

Also, with TCP retransmissions, the other thing you can do is to install a Wireshark on a device and SPAN the port that connects to the server that is having issues and troubleshoot it that way.
