Issue with operational poe not turning on

Hello,

I have a Cisco Switch model c2960 version 15.2

With 8 port with poe enable.

I have an issue I need to turn on poe on another poe but I cannot do that no matter how i used the command power inline, the oper status stay off. The command doesnt display any error.

There is an equipement plug on the port and its detected by the Switch.

What is wrong ? What I am suppose to do to turn on the POE ?

check if the SW can provide the power to host.

Hello,

I think the ports are grouped in the backplane, like 1-7, 8-15, 16-24. Try and distribute the PoE devices over the groups, that is, don't use ports 1-7, but e.g. 1-3, 8-10, and 16-17.
