LAN Base Vs. IP Base

May I know what is the different between the follow type of switches?

 

a. LAN Base

b. IP Base

Hi

Check the data sheet for the particular type of switch you are interested in, as the exact meaning varies slightly in the details.

However in brief:

LAN Base: will have layer 2 switching capability. E.g. VLANs, no routing

IP Base: will add basic L3 routing and protocols
