Hi,

when buying a layer 3 access switch , what  parameters I have to take care of  .

Planning to buy 9300 series

Mainly License part, you need network advantage License, If you using DNAC then you need to look DNAC Licese here.

Other notes :

 

1. what uplink Modules and speed.

2. stackking cables (if you are stacking)

3. right SFP and ports (ethernet ports or SFP ports)  or mGig ports.

- PoE or non PoE

- if PoE is using, how much power budget

- MAC address table size

- throughput

- uplink modularity and options

- power sources and redundant options

- stacking options 

- SFP compatibility for SFP switches

-QoS if required

-storage and memory

- VLAN capacity

- monitoring capabilities

 

additional For L3 switches-

- routing protocols supported

- IPV4 and V6 route capacity

- TCAM capabilities

- in cisco SD Access capabilities, if you are planning to use

this are quick things comes to my mind to check.
