i was interested in knowing if we could point a static route to an EID space to route traffic through a device learned via lisp.

Hello,

not sure if that is what you are asking, but you can redistribute a static IPv4 route into LISP (see the link attached):

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/iproute_lisp/configuration/15-mt/irl-15-mt-book/irl-lisp-redistr-rib-routes.html

Hi George,

No we are not looking at redistriubtion,

the topology we are trying to depict is somthing like the below case.

We have 2 sites sites connected to each other over normal router using static route

now the interface of the router connected to the lisp sites are learned over lisp protocol in the EID space

so to forward the traffic to the second site we are pointing a static route to the route learned via lisp( which is the next hop)

I hope the scenario is clear.

Thanks,

Rijo
