Logging on Layer-2 network

Dear Concern,

 

We need monitor whatever data is exchanged over layer 2 must be logged.

Please suggest if, Cisco switches have utility for logging & monitoring local LAN traffic.

Hoping this is the right forum and we will find find fruitful outcome very soon.

they do not have the capability to view it, its just a layer 2/3 switch ,you will need software too but switch can collect it and can export it to software to view it

flexible netflow is the feature and here is an example documentation of the configuration the switch would require to support exporting layer 2 flows out

Any software like UIM , PTRG , CA tools etc can be used to graph the collection of information , kit just needs to be able to receive netflows from a Cisco device

The switch cannot complete this on its own but can assist in getting the data to the software to view it
