Low SAN performance

Hello,

We have a SAN network that is made of MDS switches (9506 and 9250i) that seems to perform very inadequate with the speed of cards and cabling (8G).

We don't have a monitoring tool, like netflow, for the purpose of monitoring SAN/LAN traffic but we got a value from our backup server that shows the writes to storage. This valuew it gets up to 50Mbytes/sec, which it very low for our implementation. 

We need to check what is the cause of this problem so I would appreciate if you could give me some details on what to check?

I would advise to post your case in 

Cisco Support>Community Data Center> Storage Networking

However, you definitely need to use a monitoring system based on snmp values at least go with an opensource version for now such as LibreNMS and other tools.
