mac-address-table synchronize enable

Hi,

I like to enable the above feature for 6500 core switches.

Core Switch I am using SUP720, as per the details from cisco

Line card is supporting DFC & SUP card is supporting PFC, so this feature will help us to redice unicast flodding across LAN

But how to check my Line card is supporting DFC

Command/docuemnt/guideline pls share

As per my knowledge, that is for SUP720 which is supporting PFC3B

But my concern is whether the Line card is DFC supported, so that I can go ahead to implement the same

Pls share whether all is having DFC3 Support or not as till now I found 3,4 having DFC3 from this link

My understanding is that the 6148 and 6408 line cards are "classic" type line cards and thus not able to be upgraded with DFC3 module.

The 6748 is CEF720 type and may have DFC3.

Just found that in another cisco link that 6748 also supporting DFC3

In that case( as 2 other card as mentioned by you are classic line card), can we enable above command of "mac sync"

It should work but only to synchronize the Supervisor PFC3 with the 6748 - and only if it has the DFC3 installed.

Unless you are seeing specific operational issues with the lack of this feature being enabled  would think it more trouble than benefit.
