module showing unknown in cat 6500

Hello everyone

when I do a show module in my cat 6509, the standby sup is saying unknown, it has the same IOS as the primary card.

what does this mean?

are there any tests I can run on the card?

Hi Carl, if your IOS matches across the cards then it's likely that your standby supervisor is either stuck in rommon or in a boot loop. You will need console access to recover it if that's the case. Have you tried to reseat it?

Card's either faulty or in ROMmon.  Console into it to find out further.
