Most stable code release for the Catalyst 4948E

I was looking on the download page and realized that there are no "GD" versions available.  Are the "ED" versions stable?  Even if you change "ED" to "GD" in the URL the IOS images are still the same.

Is 15.1 as reliable as 15.0?

My devices are currently on the 12.2 train.  Is there anything special to upgrade to one of the 15.x trains?  Are the configurations compatible.

GD releases are a thing of the past.   We have used 12.2.54SG1  without issues on other 4000 series platforms. Unless you need something specific in the 15.X train , 12.2 train is more mature.

Thanks.  So everything is an ED release now?  There is no way to know which is "stable" or not?  15.1 seems very new, even though it might be considered a "stable" release.  The issue is that 12.x is going out of maintenance in less than a year.  If you were to go with the 15.x train would you go with 15.0?
