Hi All,
One of our client is having Cisco 6513 with SUP720-3B. Currently they are running with CatOS version 8.5.2. Now we are planning to upgrade it to IOS. Though SUP720-3B comes with MSFC card, but in this case I am not seeing MSFC card in either show version nor in show module.
So, my query is how can we troubleshoot in CatOS to identify whether the MSFC card is faulty or not.
Regards,
Shahab

Shahab,
Can you post output of show module.
Also try the following command:
Catos> Session X (X- should be replaced with the number of sup module number.
Example:
If the sup module is install;ed on slot 5 then:
cat6k(enable)Show module Mod Slot Ports Module-Type Model Sub Status --- ---- ----- ------------------------- ------------------- --- -------- 5 5 9 1000BaseX Supervisor WS-SUP32-GE-3B yes ok 15 5 1 Multilayer Switch Feature WS-F6K-MSFC2A no ok
Cat6k>session 15

Note:
In certain circumstances, the MSFC is not displayed when you issue the commands that this document shows. If the MSFC does not display in the output when you issue the commands, but you are certain that a routing engine exists on the Supervisor Engine module, you need to recover the MSFC. For the recovery method, refer to the document
Recover an MSFC Missing from the Supervisor Engine show module Command
.
