Multicast issues on the Nexus 3000 series

Hi.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus3000/sw/multicast/93x/multicast/b-cisco-nexus-3000-series-nx-os-multicast- routing-configuration-guide-93x / b-cisco-nexus-3000-series-nx-os-multicast-routing-configuration-guide-93x_chapter_011.html

IGMP V2 and V3 are set in the C3524P switch by referring to the above link.

PC is connected to the switch.

When you run a multicast program, it stays running for about 180 seconds.
Even if IGMP Snooping setting is tried.

What should I check?
Please let me know what you need to check.

Thanks

Hello JunHolee95720,

when you use IGMP snooping enabled there is some device sending IGMP queries ?

for IGMP snooping to work:

either a multicast router or multilayer switch has PIM enabled on the Vlan

or one device needs to act as IGMP snooping querier sending out IGMP queries

This is needed because IGMP snooping work on listening to IGMP reports sent as answers to IGMP queries to build a OSI layer 2 list of ports in the Vlan that should receive a multicast MAC address (associated to an IPv4 multicast group address)

Hope to help

Giuseppe
