I have multiple IP helper-address defined, does the router send request to both or first to one then the other? Anyone know how that works?

The router would forward the DHCP request to all the servers identified in the helper address command. All the servers would respond and it's up to the client to choose which address it wants to keep.

Hi Washington,
Router will send request to both the DHCP servers and both teh DHCP servers will reply back with DHCP OFFER. Then it depends on client which one it selects.
Once it selects the DHCP OFFER then it send the request to that DHCP server and will get the acknowledgement form that DHCP server.
