Hello,
We're considering to buy a few QSFP-H40G-AOC2M cables, but Cisco Compatibility matrix doesn't show that this is supportable with N9K-C9364C-GX Nexus MODE, it's supportable on ACI mode only:) Although the same cable but 3M length, according to Cisco matrix, is supportable on Nexus mode. So i'm wondering can it be a mistake ? Because i see no logic to support AOC3M, AOC1M in, but not 2M, on NEXUS mode.
Maybe you have had simmilar experience with Cisco Matrix ? Thanks

As per i know they need to minimum distance to work - by saying that some time optic may burng or get more heated if they are very short, i have noticed, but if i used more length cable that option works as expected.
some time cisco documentation may have wrong information, since very huge and some updates are not accurate.
if i were you if i have cable i will do testing with longer cable first.

Hello!
The Cisco Optics-to-Device Compatibility Matrix tool is the source of truth for all transceiver and cable compatibility with Cisco devices. Although it is possible for it to be incomplete and missing information, I would err on the side of caution and assume that QSFP-H40G-AOC2M cables are not supported on Nexus 93464C-GX switches running in NX-OS mode as indicated by the matrix.
If you would like to see support for this cable on this platform in NX-OS mode, I highly recommend getting in touch with your Cisco account team to ask if support can be introduced. They will capture your use case and deployment size, then advocate for you internally to add support for this cable.
I hope this helps - thank you!
