Cisco Nexus 9k after a hardware reset, the reason code is unknown.
I guess that only reset caused by software will have the reason on " show system reset-reason". Is my guess right ?

To know the reset history of the switch , yes you can check by show system reset-reason command.

Hello Shabeer,
Please check this url for the SW defect:

basically when the switch is power reset the status comes back as unknown.
upgrading the SW release to NX-OS to 7.0(3)I7(8) or I7(9) will fix this case.

Normally due to power issues also reset reason will be highlighted in "show system reset-reason"
This bug states its not happening as usual.
