Need to confirm if fibre used is SM

                   Hi Everyone,

Need to confirm if fibre from patch panel to switch is Single mode?

Its yellow in color.

Look at the writing (print) on the cord

If you can see any markings for 7 or 9 microns then it is SM

50 or 62.5 is MM

Hi Mahesh,

Usually (not always) if the fiber is yellow, it is single mode, if it is orange or aqua is MM.

If the fiber is single mode, make sure your optic is also single mode.

Orange = multi-mode

Yellow = single-mode

I check the fibre it has no info on micros.

I found this on cable  11/104 = 2 SME -TR2

Hi Everyone,

Seems this is Single mode cable only as i saw on other cables from this vendor  that they have label

SMF  ---Single Mode Fibre.
