Need to enable jumbo frames

I need to enable jumbo frames on Nexus 5596 switches to accommodate some Oracle RAC servers. The connections will be on N2K fabric extenders. I am not 100% sure what the best way to go about this is.  Can I turn it on globally and configure ports or is this not possible on an N5K/N2K architecture?

I also need to know whether (and how) this can be done without impacting the network at all. I cannot have any down time while doing this.
