About Supervisors you may get info here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps4324/prod_qas0900aecd806d8b06.html

Q. Is NetFlow supported on the Supervisor Engine 6-E?

A. No. NetFlow is supported on Supervisor Engine 7-E and 7L-E.

About routers: No. Routers implement NF in software, so almost every router has this ability.

About 2960: do you mean Catalyst 2960? Here you can't do NF, of course.

NetFlow on Cat4500 is hardware-based and is available where appropriate hardware exists. Old supervisors up to Sup V do not support NetFlow by themselves. They require NetFlow Feature Card. SupV-10G supports NF by it's own. Sup 6 does not support at all. Sup 7 supports by itself. What supervisor do you have?

Hi Fer

Mate thanks for feedback. can you share document stating Sup 6 is not supported and Sup 7 is supported

Does it applies same for 2800 / 3800 series router ( hardware based or its ios based there )

is this true that netflow cannot be enabled on 2960 device

cheers
