Nexus 3K or 3850

Hi,

I am looking for a switch for a small site. There is a requirement to support iSCSI.

Is Nexus 3K a cheaper and better option for just as an Ethernet switch or you would suggest to use 3850? The uplink will be 10 Gig. We don’t have high throughput requirement. What would be a better option?

Hi,

Usually for iSCSI traffic, you want the fastest switching with least latency.  The 3k is defiantly designed for data center and storage use, but if you don't need high throughput than the 3850 should work fine.  Also 3850 should be cheaper than the Nexus 3k.
